Walk through Broadway’s history, starting in 1732 with the first documented performance in NYC, and go backstage with your favorite Broadway stars to learn how a show is made. As you walk the timeline, you’ll come upon exhibits dedicated to groundbreaking moments in Broadway’s history – those that pushed creative boundaries, challenged social norms, and paved the way for those who would follow. The Museum of Broadway was designed by internationally renowned artists, designers, and theatre historians.

Broadway is the beating heart of New York City. The Museum of Broadway is the only place in the world where you can have such an incredible in-depth experience to learn Broadway’s history, see costumes up-close, go backstage with your favorite Broadway stars and discover what it takes to make the magic happen.

What is the group minimum? 10 tickets or more

How do I get my tickets? All tickets are digital and will be emailed to the group leader.

Are the exhibits self-guided? Yes! The experience is self-guided and is one-way only – there is no returning to rooms you’ve already been through. Brand Ambassadors will help you through your journey, answer questions and help you take photographs if you’d like assistance.

Can I take photos and video? Yes! Not only are they allowed, they are ENCOURAGED!

Do you have a coat check? What about strollers? Luggage? Yes, we have a coat check and lockers in the Cellar, and an ADA coat check on the Ground Level. Strollers are not allowed beyond the lobby and merchandise store and you will be required to check them before entering the exhibit areas. We cannot, at this time, accommodate luggage.

How long will it take me to visit? Most people will spend between 1 hour to 3 hours exploring the museum depending on how long they spend in each exhibit. Please plan accordingly.

Is the Museum accessible? Yes! The Museum has elevators and ADA bathrooms on every floor. At this time, we do not rent wheelchairs.

Is the Museum appropriate for all ages? Yes! Kids and adults of all ages are welcome, but keep in mind that strollers must be checked upon arrival.  4 and under may enter free of charge. Guests 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 or older.

When should I arrive? For Timed Tickets, please be sure to arrive on time.  We do offer a 15-minute grace period, but later arrivals may not be guaranteed entry depending on our attendance on a given day.  If you would like greater flexibility for your arrival time, please choose our “Flex” or “Anytime” ticket options.
